T&R Test Equipment Ltd. 2025 Year in Review

As 2025 draws to a close, T&R Test Equipment Ltd is reflecting on a year shaped by progress, stronger international partnerships and the continued growth of our high-voltage testing solutions in global markets. From product launches to industry events and technical training, the past twelve months have reinforced our position as a trusted specialist in primary and secondary current injection equipment.

Below, we’ve highlighted some of the key milestones from 2025 and shared a look ahead to what 2026 will bring.

A major product milestone: the MCAT+ launch

One of the standout achievements of 2025 was the launch of the MCAT+ Micro Cross Arm Tester. Designed to support overhead line safety on 11 kV systems, the MCAT+ has quickly become one of our most in-demand products worldwide.

Engineers, utilities and maintenance teams have praised its safety features, accurate prospective short-circuit current (ISC) measurement, wireless communication and intuitive interface. The strong early uptake reflects ongoing demand for compact, reliable, safety-led field instruments.

Strengthening international connections across Asia

Our commitment to supporting global testing requirements was reflected in a busy year of engagement across Asia.

Asia Pacific Rail 2025

Asia Pacific Rail 2025 gave us the opportunity to speak with protection engineers, rail operators and utility specialists about changing test requirements. With traction networks relying on accurate protection coordination, our current injection equipment continues to attract interest across the region.

South East Asia distributor tour

Following the exhibition, our team travelled across South East Asia to work directly with our distributor network. The tour included:

  • technical presentations

  • application discussions with end users

  • product familiarisation sessions

  • market development planning

These meetings strengthened relationships and highlighted growing demand for robust, easy-to-use testing equipment across both developing and established grids.

Expanding technical knowledge: UK workshops and training

Throughout the year, we worked with several UK distributors to deliver hands-on workshops, giving engineers the chance to use instruments including the 200ADM-P Mk2, 50ADM-P and 750ADM Mk4.

Sessions covered:

  • overcurrent protection testing

  • timing analysis

  • primary injection practice

  • real commissioning scenarios

Feedback has been extremely positive, and we plan to expand our training programme further in 2026.

Industry engagement: the inaugural Faraday Power Group Meeting

Another highlight of 2025 was our participation in the first Faraday Power Group Meeting, hosted at The Faraday Centre in Redcar and Cleveland. The event brought together organisations from across the electrical, power and renewables sectors to share ideas and showcase technologies supporting modern high-voltage operations. Taking part reflects our ongoing commitment to collaboration and knowledge sharing across the industry.

A productive visit to Canada

In November, we visited Canada to meet Power Source Instruments, our long-standing distributor, and several regional end users. The trip strengthened our presence in the Canadian market and provided useful insight into emerging protection testing trends across North America.

Discussions included:

  • current protection testing practices

  • application needs for modern relays

  • opportunities linked to new infrastructure projects

  • live demonstrations of our current injection systems

We appreciate the warm welcome and the quality of discussions throughout the visit.

Looking ahead to 2026

2025 has been a strong and forward-looking year for T&R Test Equipment Ltd. With successful product development, wider global engagement and a continued focus on collaboration, we enter 2026 with confidence and momentum.

Our priorities for the year ahead include:

  • continued innovation in high-voltage testing technology

  • further expansion of distributor training programmes

  • increased participation in international exhibitions and conferences

  • improved digital support for customers and engineering teams
