NEW AT SOPREMA FULL RANGE OF DUO BITUMEN MEMBRANES

A few years ago, the Soprema Group acquired De Boer. Like Soprema, this Belgian-based, family-run company manufactures top-quality roofing products. As a result of the merger, Soprema will now expand its product offer in the UK with a range of BBA-approved bituminous membranes called DuO High Tech Waterproofing Membranes, which have a 35-year life expectancy. The revolutionary technology behind these membranes (which combine a TPO upper side with an SBS underside) was launched in 1989.

DUO HIGH TECH WATERPROOFING RANGE

The De Boer membranes that will be complementing Soprema’s existing bituminous waterproofing offer are:

• DuO High Tech 4 AGR/F C180 AERO FC: designed for use in partially bonded single-layer specifications
• DuO High Tech 4 AGR/F C180 FC Mecano: for use in mechanical fastened specifications (with the membrane mechanically fixed at the laps and edges, and loose laid for the rest)
• DuO High Tech 4 AGR/F C180 FC: a cradle-to-cradle certified membrane with double bitumen coating, fire-retardant additives and a polyester composite reinforcement, this can be used for fully bonded Capsheet detail applications

The range is wide, with mechanically fixed and partially bonded options as well as single-layer and full-system options (with DuO vapour barriers, cap sheet membranes and other components).

BITUMINOUS MEMBRANES: ADVANTAGES

The new DuO membranes are manufactured by covering the reinforcement with a top layer of TPO-modified bitumen and the lower face with an SBS-modified bitumen coating mass and a full SBS overlap. This dual technology results in exceptional durability, the membranes having a durable waterproof covering with a service life of at least 35 years.

And there are even more advantages to the DuO range:

• the membranes are weathertight, resisting the passage of moisture to the interior of a building
• they are UV resistant
• they can be applied at low temperatures
• the products will resist the effects of any likely wind suction action on the roof
• the membranes are resistant to mechanical damage and can withstand the foot traffic and loads associated with installation and maintenance
• the mineral cap sheet finish is aesthetically appealing
• the DuO High Tech Landscape FC membrane will resist penetration by roots

Soprema will continue to deliver the full package of roofing services that you are used to – from providing expert courses to site inspections, design service, CAD drawings and U-value calculations.

CRADLE-TO-CRADLE CERTIFICATION

The DuO High Tech 4 AGR/F C180 FC has the cradle-to-cradle certification, but that is certainly not the only way in which the DuO range is good for the environment. The flame-free application eliminates the use of gas, reducing our reliance on this natural resource as well as reducing ozone pollution. The single-layer DuO options, moreover, use less bitumen – hence, less carbon-based materials.
