It’s working in people’s favour, now. It’s giving you more time with your family at the weekend.

Rubb UK has recently introduced a four-day working week for its factory-based teams, including the Fabrication and PVC departments.
The move supports both staff wellbeing and operational efficiency. By condensing the working week into four full days, team members benefit from an improved work-life balance; gaining more time to rest, recharge, and focus on personal priorities.
The new structure also allows part-time staff to share more shifts, helping to ensure key departments are fully resourced when working on large-scale projects. In PVC, it takes many hands on deck to manage the sheets on our largest projects. Likewise, our fabrication team handles vast amounts of steel to ensure our wide, clear-span structures are built to last.
Melanie Brewis, Manager of the PVC Department, has already seen the positive impact on her team.
It’s changed massively. Just morale in general, knowing that you’ve got a 3-day weekend has just changed everything.

The change brings environmental and energy-saving benefits too. With the factory now closed on Fridays, which were previously operated on reduced hours, we’ve eliminated the need for energy-intensive start-up processes at the end of the week. This contributes to our ongoing commitment to reducing our energy usage and environmental impact.
The move to a four-day week is about working smarter, not just for efficiency, but to support the wellbeing of our people. It’s a positive step forward for both our team and the business.
