About Us
RS Machinery Group has decades of heritage in supplying machinery to the metalworking and fabrication industries. The company began in 1969, when David Edward Ross started selling wood and metal-working machinery in Aberdeenshire. His practical knowledge, reliability and straightforward customer service helped the business grow quickly across the region.
In 1980, David’s son John Ross joined the company and helped expand its focus into the fast-growing oil and gas fabrication markets. This shift marked a significant step in the company’s evolution, allowing RS Machinery to establish itself as a trusted supplier to workshops and fabrication businesses across North East Scotland. As demand grew, so did the company’s product range, reputation and geographic reach.
Over the years, RS Machinery continued to develop, eventually forming part of the wider UK Machinery Group alongside sister companies such as Selmach Machinery and Bison Machinery. This partnership created a strong nationwide network, combining shared expertise with local knowledge to support industries across Scotland, Ireland and the wider UK.
Today, RS Machinery Group supplies a comprehensive range of fabrication machinery, machine tools, tooling and consumables. Their customers span oil and gas, structural steel, general fabrication, blacksmithing, engineering workshops and OEM manufacturers. Every product they supply is backed by genuine industry insight, honest advice and a commitment to long-term support.
The company continues to look forward. In recent years RS Machinery has begun developing a dedicated Metalworking Applications Centre near Glasgow Airport, designed to support advanced manufacturing, training and innovation for the next generation of engineering businesses.
What has stayed consistent since 1969 is the company’s core principle: supplying high-quality machinery with service people can rely on. RS Machinery Group remains a long-term partner for fabricators and engineers, helping them work safer, smarter and more productively.
