RH Technical Industries is exhibiting at the Engineering Design Show (EDS) 2026 at the CBS Arena in Coventry, showcasing its latest custom Human-Machine Interface (HMI) solutions from Stand F19.
Taking place on 7 and 8 October 2026, the Engineering Design Show brings together professionals from across engineering, electronics, embedded design and product development.
RH Technical Industries has arrived at the event with a selection of its UK-manufactured interface solutions, giving design engineers, product developers and manufacturers an opportunity to see and handle examples of the company's custom membrane keypads, graphic overlays, industrial labels and silicone rubber keyboards.
Representing RH Technical Industries at Stand F19 are Mike, Development Manager, and Tony, Operations Manager, who will be available throughout the show to discuss new products, challenging applications and bespoke HMI requirements.
Custom Membrane Keypads on Display
Among the products being showcased at EDS 2026 are RH Technical Industries' custom membrane keypads.
For many products, the keypad is one of the main physical points of interaction between the equipment and its operator. Its appearance, tactile response and reliability can therefore have a significant influence on the overall user experience.
RH Technical Industries develops membrane keypads around the individual application, taking into consideration factors such as operating environment, required tactile feedback, materials and durability.
Visitors to Stand F19 can handle examples and experience the different tactile characteristics available rather than relying solely on drawings or specifications.
This provides an opportunity for engineers to discuss how a membrane keypad could be incorporated into a new product or adapted around the requirements of an existing design.
Graphic Overlays and Industrial Labels
RH Technical Industries is also displaying examples of its graphic overlays and industrial labels.
A graphic overlay provides the visible face of many control panels and needs to combine clear communication and accurate branding with the durability required for its operating environment.
Depending on the application, an overlay may need to withstand regular handling, chemicals, UV exposure and other demanding conditions.
Material selection, adhesive specification, colour matching and alignment are therefore all important considerations during development.
At EDS, the RH Technical Industries team can discuss these different requirements with visitors and demonstrate examples of the finishes and materials available for bespoke interface projects.
Silicone Rubber Keyboards for Demanding Applications
Another area being highlighted at Stand F19 is silicone rubber keyboard technology.
Silicone rubber keyboards provide pronounced three-dimensional keys and tactile feedback and can be developed for applications requiring resistance to challenging environmental conditions.
They can be particularly suitable for industrial and medical equipment, where durability, ease of cleaning and reliable operation are important considerations.
RH Technical Industries can customise elements including key shape, colour and overall configuration to suit the design and operation of the finished equipment.
Having physical examples at EDS gives visitors the opportunity to compare the feel of different interfaces and discuss how silicone rubber keyboards could work within their own products.
Taking HMI Projects from Concept to Prototype
For Development Manager Mike, EDS provides an opportunity to speak directly with engineers at the earliest stages of product development.
RH Technical Industries regularly works with customers who begin with anything from an initial concept or rough sketch through to a more developed design presenting a particular technical challenge.
This could involve an interface intended for very low temperatures, a control panel that needs to be operated while wearing gloves or an HMI required to withstand a demanding industrial environment.
The development process can include reviewing the proposed application, identifying potential issues and considering different materials, technologies and manufacturing approaches before progressing towards a working prototype.
By discussing these requirements directly at the show, engineers can explore potential solutions before committing to a final interface design.
From Prototype to Consistent Production
Operations Manager Tony will also be available to discuss the manufacturing side of HMI production.
For manufacturers, developing a successful prototype is only part of the process. Once an interface enters regular production, repeatability, quality and supply reliability become equally important.
RH Technical Industries focuses on maintaining consistency as projects progress from initial prototypes into larger production quantities.
Controlled manufacturing processes, material selection and testing all contribute to ensuring components can be repeatedly produced to the required specification.
Supply chain reliability is another important consideration, particularly for manufacturers relying on interface components to keep their own assembly operations running.
Meet RH Technical Industries at Stand F19
The Engineering Design Show provides RH Technical Industries with an opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities face-to-face and discuss individual engineering challenges with visitors.
Rather than simply viewing finished products, engineers visiting Stand F19 are encouraged to bring along drawings, concepts and specific HMI challenges for discussion with Mike and Tony.
The team can provide guidance on areas including membrane keypad construction, graphic overlays, industrial labels, silicone rubber keyboards, materials, adhesives, tactile feedback and interface development.
For businesses currently designing a new product or looking to improve an existing control interface, the show also provides an opportunity to examine physical samples and discuss manufacturing considerations directly with the RH Technical Industries team.
RH Technical Industries can be found at Stand F19 at the Engineering Design Show 2026, taking place at the CBS Arena in Coventry on 7 and 8 October.
