Expansion Joints

Renderplas Expansion Joints must be specified where there is a structural movement joint under the render. They may also be used as a day joint or as a definition line where different coloured renders come together in a panel. They should also be used where there is a change to the background substrate. Renderplas Expansion Joints are designed to meet the Standatrd BS EN 13914-1:2005 - External Rendering and although only available in white in standard form, colours are available in PowerBead form. The PowerBead Corner bead colours available are: Arctic white, Ivory, Maize, Terracotta, Brick, Wheat, Peach, Salmon, Slate, Dove, Sky, Willow. All standard White beads are manufactured from 100% recycled material with coloured Expansion Joints manufactured from more than 96% recycled material. Renderplas Expansion Joints profiles range from 4mm to 20mm. Supplied in packs of 25 2.5m lengths for standard white and packs of 12 or 25 3.0m lengths for PowerBead. Renderplas deliver free if more than 5 packs are ordered and are delivered in a robust fibreboard tube. Fixing Guidelines: Plumb straight and embed in continuous line of adhesive mortar. Butt joints should be embedded in silicone mastic to prevent water ingress and mechanical fixings are best avoided to prevent distortion of the joint and potential contamination with the render. Cutting to length: Use fine toothed hacksaw or tin snips. PVC PipeWeld adhesive can be used for butt joints. Storage: Store flat away from heat and direct sun.
