Adhesive Mortar: PVC Beads should be set onto a continuous line of adhesive mortar, dubbing out where necessary. This allows the PVC bead to be plumbed completely straight and provides additional rigidity when trowelling on render. Where through coloured render is used, the PVC bead will not deflect when trowelling off.
Mechanical Fixings: Care should be taken not to deform a traditional External PVC bead when using mechanical fixings - it should only be necessary when fixing a PVC bead horizontally to maintain straightness whilst the adhesive mortar goes off to avoid the need of a supporting baton underneath the PVC bead. Internal PVC beads can be quickly fixed using stainless steel staples as an alternative.
Cutting to length: Use fine toothed hacksaw and tin snips. PVC Pipe Weld adhesive can be used to butt joints.
Storage: Store horizontally away from direct hot sun. Whilst Renderplas PVC beads are packaged in the highest quality fibreboard tubes and double-fluted cardboard boxes, care should be taken to ensure the boxes are kept straight.
