Pernod Ricard Commits to Big Changes by 2025

24/03/2021

Pernod Ricard, the world’s number 2 in wines and spirits, has promised big things in its “Good Times from a Good Place” Sustainability & Responsibility roadmap.

The French company owns 16 of the world’s top 100 brands and has been in operation since 1975.

The roadmap sets out the group’s plans, stretching into 2030, which includes a commitment to make all packaging 100% recyclable, reusable, compostable, or bio-based by the year 2025.

Whilst all organisations are looking to make their operations as sustainable as possible, a declaration of changes on the scale of Pernod Ricard’s is certainly one to turn heads.

With so many brands under their belt, this surely is a big commitment to take on, however the group has already seen some of their biggest brands announce major advancements in their packaging designs.

Brand Achievements Absolut Vodka, the Swedish brand, has celebrated the achievement of manufacturing its clear glass bottle using 50% recycled materials, a goal that has been reached four years ahead of schedule.

Not to be outdone, Beefeater Gin have also developed a 100% recyclable bottle, which includes an embossed aluminium lid to replace the original plastic design and a paper label instead of plastic.

Perrier-Jouét have launched a fully recyclable gift box, backed by two years of design and research, manufactured from natural fibres sourced from FSC-certified forests.

These developments, along with the many other ongoing and soon to be announced projects are how Pernod Ricard are going to work towards their target of ensuring all packaging within their brand network is 100% recyclable, reusable, compostable, or bio-based by the year 2025.

Here at Rayda, all our products are 100% recyclable with 60% made from recycled material. To find out more about our products and how we can help your business on the road to sustainability, get in touch today.
