The TFT AD 270 - 2200 dessicant dehumidifier range.

Principle of Operation.

The dehumidifier uses two airflows: the main process air (to be dehumidified) and regeneration air (used to regenerate the rotor). Two fans direct these airflows through the desiccant rotor, which is impregnated with silica gel to absorb moisture from the process air. After the air passes through, the dehumidified air is directed into the treated area.

The rotor operates in a temperature range of -20°C to +40°C. A heating coil warms the regeneration air to around 100°C, flowing in the opposite direction to release moisture from the rotor and restore its absorption capacity. The humid air is expelled outside the environment.

Structure.

The dehumidifier is built with durable galvanized and stainless steel for long-lasting performance. It has a simple, robust design with a removable top panel for easy maintenance access. The unit connects to standard spiral ducts for straightforward installation.

Fans.

The fans are driven by a single-phase AC or EC motor (IP55, class F insulation, and class B efficiency). They start automatically when the unit operates, and the top panel allows quick access for maintenance.

Rotor.

The high-performance rotor features a heat-resistant, honeycomb structure with silica gel as the desiccant. This design maximizes moisture absorption and airflow efficiency. It can handle saturated air and sudden fan stoppages without damage. The rotor is non-combustible and safe for operation.

Transmission System.

A belt-driven system powers the rotor, ensuring smooth operation. A tensioning device prevents belt slippage, while ball bearings reduce friction, increasing the system’s lifespan. The rotor’s operation is visible through the top panel.

Regeneration Air Heating Coil.

The dehumidifier uses a self-regulating PTC electric heater to maintain constant surface temperature, ensuring efficient and safe regeneration.

Filters.

Two G3 filters at the process and regeneration air inlets capture dust and impurities, maintaining air quality and protecting internal components.

Electrical Panel.

The electrical panel complies with European standards (73/23, 89/336) and is easily accessible via the top panel. It includes a main switch, ammeter, hour counter, and external humidistat connection. The panel also supports manual/automatic control of the dehumidification process.
