The TFT AD 800 - 1100 dessicant dehumidifier range.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION.

The dehumidifier uses two separate airflows: process air (the main airflow to be dehumidified) and regeneration air (used to dry the rotor). Two high-efficiency fans drive these opposing air streams through the desiccant rotor.

Process air passes through the silica gel rotor, where moisture is absorbed as vapour, producing a dry air stream for further processing or direct supply. The rotor rotates slowly via a belt-driven motor, ensuring continuous operation. This system works reliably from -30°C to +40°C.

Regeneration air is heated (typically +100°C above ambient) and passed in the opposite direction. The heat increases its moisture-holding capacity, drawing absorbed vapour out of the rotor and expelling it outside, leaving the rotor ready for reuse.

STRUCTURE.

Casing: Galvanised steel insulated panels (painted or stainless steel AISI304 optional). Top and front panels allow access for service. Air connections are typically spiral ducting.

FANS.

Direct-coupled to single/three-phase motors (IP55, ISO F, class B).

Accessible only with panels removed for safety.

Standard fixed-speed control; optional frequency converter allows variable speed based on demand.

ROTOR.

Honeycomb structure of heat-resistant sheets impregnated with silica gel.

High absorption surface in compact volume.

Tolerant of saturated air, fan stoppages, and pre-cooling coils.

Non-combustible and non-flammable.

TRANSMISSION SYSTEM.

Belt drive (6–12 rph) with motor and reduction gearbox.

Belt tensioning system prevents slippage.

Rotor supported on ball bearings and visibly rotating for inspection.

REGENERATION HEATING COIL.

Electric PTC elements with modulating power control for efficiency.

Options: steel elements in star connection with step or continuous modulation (PWM).

FILTERS.

Two standard G4 filters: one for process air, one for regeneration air.

Higher-grade filters available on request.

PLC CONTROL.

PLC manages: regeneration temperature, thermal protection, cooldown, sequencing, alarms, RH/dewpoint control, and pre/post treatment.

Remote display terminal possible.

Accepts analogue inputs from external moisture sensors.

ELECTRICAL PANEL.

Built to EU standards (73/23, 89/336).

Accessible from the top.

Standard components: mains switch, thermal switches, fan/gear/relay protections, terminal blocks for remote ON/OFF and alarms.
