The TFT AD 1000 - 3100 dessicant dehumidifier range.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION.

The dehumidifier uses two airflows: process air (dehumidified air) and regeneration air (used to dry the rotor). Two high-efficiency fans drive these opposing air streams through a slowly rotating silica gel rotor. Moisture in the process air is absorbed by the silica gel and discharged as dry air. This system operates reliably between –30°C and +40°C. The rotor turns slowly via a belt-driven motor and gearbox. Regeneration air is heated (typically +100°C above ambient) and passed in the opposite direction, releasing the rotor’s absorbed moisture, which is vented outside as vapor. The rotor is then ready to repeat the cycle.

STRUCTURE.

Casing: galvanized steel insulated panels (painted or stainless steel AISI304).

Easy access: removable top and front panels.

Standard duct connections: galvanized spiral ducting.

FANS.

Direct-coupled single- or three-phase motors (IP55, ISO F, class B).

Maintenance access only with safety panel removed.

Standard fixed-speed; optional frequency converter allows variable-speed operation.

ROTOR.

Honeycomb structure of heat-resistant sheets with silica gel.

High absorption capacity in compact volume.

Withstands saturated air, fan stoppages, and pre-cooling coils.

Non-combustible and non-flammable.

TRANSMISSION SYSTEM.

Belt drive, 6–12 rph, powered by motor and gearbox.

Belt tensioning prevents slip; rotation visible for inspection.

Rotor mounted on ball bearings around central shaft.

REGENERATION HEATING COIL.

Electric: Steel elements, star connected, in 2+ control banks. Optional continuous proportional modulation for energy savings.

Steam: Stainless steel tubes with aluminum fins, 2-port valve with modulating actuator.

FILTERS.

Two G4 filters: process air inlet and regeneration air inlet.

Higher-grade filters available on request.

PLC CONTROL.

PLC regulates: regeneration temperature, thermal protection, cooldown timing, start sequence, alarms, humidity/dewpoint control, and pre/post-conditioning.

Touch-screen display (can be remote).

Standard external humidistat control; optional BMS integration (MODBUS protocols available).

ELECTRICAL PANEL.

Built to EU standards (73/23, 89/336).

Top access panel.

Includes mains switch, thermal switches, fan/gear/relay protections.

Terminal block for remote ON/OFF and general alarm contacts.
