Pryor launches new Portadot(tm)
Pryor launches new Portadot(tm) dot peen markers at MACH 2008 Stand: 4651, Hall 4 The new Portadot(tm) from Pryor will be launched at MACH Pryor Marking Technology, a specialist in marking and traceability solutions has extended its Marktronic(tm) range by adding two new high speed portable dot peen marking systems. The Marktronic(tm) PF130-30 Portadot(tm) and the PF130-40 Portadot(tm) are designed for use in applications where taking the marking device to the work piece is prerequisite, eg steel stock marking, chassis VIN marking, or as part of an integrated production line procedure. The fully programmable Marktronic(tm) PF130-30 Portadot(tm) has a large 130 x 30 mm marking area and its flexible stand-off posts can be adjusted to enable high quality dot peen marking to take place even in the most awkward of locations. The variable force control allows the system to mark up to 62Rc (800Hv), which is sufficient for the majority of engineering applications. If a larger Y axis is required, then the PF130-40 Portadot(tm) model offers a longer stylus, nosepiece and standoff posts. In addition, both models have a unique lead-screw design which helps to ensure the high speed, precision marking required by so many engineering organisations. John Kidder, commercial operations manager at Pryor, explained: "It is not always possible, for a variety of reasons, including scale or safety, to move items requiring marking to a specific marking machine. The introduction of these hand held, portable, Portadot(tm) dot peen markers means that high quality human readable and Data Matrix marking can be applied to items in situ." With a multi-lingual, highly intuitive user interface, displayed on an LCD screen, ease of use has been paramount in Pryor's design of these products. Operators have a choice of character font and size as well as angular and arc marking, serial number and date and time marking. Both models are powered by 110/220 volt electric supply and neither requires compressed air for operation, making them significantly quieter than pneumatically operated marking systems. Pryor will be sharing its stand with its subsidiary, Absolute Vision Ltd, a developer and manufacturer of Data Matrix readers and vision systems.
