Llandegfan Play Area Transformation

A complete play area refurbishment designed to create a more engaging family-friendly outdoor space.

Cwm Cadnant Community Council contacted us and asked us to refurbish the play areas in Llandegfan as part of an overall project to refurbish two playgrounds.

PlayQuest was appointed to provide a complete playground refurbishment that would benefit the local community for years to come. The result is a durable and long-lasting play environment that the local community can be incredibly proud of.

The Challenge

There was an old timber trail that require removal and replacing, as well as refurbishing some of the existing equipment that was to be left in-situ. The Community Council required a solution that would:

• Remove and responsibly dispose of the old timber adventure trail
• Introduce modern, durable equipment
• Refurbish the existing play equipment that would stay in-situ
• Deliver maximum play value within budget
• Minimise disruption to the local community during installation

The finished result needed to feel like a clear upgrade both visually and practically.

Our solution

We discussed a few ideas and proposals with the Community Council, and then agreed a plan that included both new play equipment and refurbishment works.

We supplied and installed:

• A bespoke Adventure Trail manufactured from Timber to replace the old trail
• An Imagination Station with 4 Interactive Game Panels
• New Timber posts installed for the 3 existing Game Panels
• Refurbishment of the 2 existing metal swing frames
• Grass Mats safer surfacing installed around the existing shelter, to minimise damage to the grass.

All new equipment was manufactured from timber with steel feet added to the uprights – offering a robust, attractive and durable play environment.

The entire project was completed in just 4 days with very minimal disruption to the local residents during the installation period.

The outcome

The transformation was immediate. The refreshed play area now provides dynamic balancing trail along with an area for imaginative play and social interaction.

The Community Council and locals are delighted with the finished result.

The play area now supports physical development, social interaction and imaginative play in a modern, welcoming environment.
