Platt Packaging is a family owned contract packaging and thermoforming company based in Tredegar, South Wales. Established in 1984, the business has built over four decades of experience packing, repacking and manufacturing thermoformed products for retail outlets across the UK. Starting out in Surrey, Platt relocated to Swindon in 1992, then opened a dedicated thermoforming and specialist packing facility in Ebbw Vale in 2001. Blister packs use up to 85% recycled RPET material, all of which is itself 100% recyclable, and internal skeletal waste is recycled rather than sent to landfill. The Tredegar site also generates 50kWh of its own electricity daily from an on site solar panel array, offsetting a meaningful share of its energy use. Combined with RPET based packaging that avoids the UK's Plastic Packaging Tax, this gives clients a genuinely lower impact option without compromising on protection or presentation.
