Senior Aerospace Weston
Given the retirement of the existing CEO, Senior Weston Aerospace needed to identify, screen, select and appoint a new Chief Executive Officer. We engaged five specialist organisations to present a range of Executive Search options and immediately appointed Omega Resource Group through the Divisional Director, Rick Towers, and Senior Manager, Amy Harris, to deliver the assignment. What transmitted at presentation stage was a team that were knowledgeable and experienced in their sector, had a proven track record, and demonstrated a hunger and appetite to deliver both a solution and a result – a true end-to-end assignment above a shortlist of senior candidates. THE PROGRAMME: Time was invested by senior stakeholders within Senior Weston Aerospace and Omega Resource Group on-site to understand both the culture and the business, as well as the role requirements. From a floor-walk and plant tour, to time in the boardroom with the senior leadership team, a clear, detailed and documented brief was complete and a project flight plan agreed, outlining key dates, actions/owners and milestones to be delivered. Given the confidential nature of this role, communication was critical and the team ensured a weekly progress update report shared along with a weekly call. Throughout, the communication remained at the highest level. This was particularly helpful given a range of stakeholders being based in different locations nationally and internationally – time zones in USA and Asia were accommodated openly by the team to deliver regular, meaningful communications. THE PROCESS: The research process: Market research of clients, organisations, groups/forums to approach Discreet engagement to potential individuals Local, national and international interviews were conducted to engage prospective candidates The selection process: Interviewed twice by Omega Resource Group Interviewed by Senior Weston Aerospace including a plant tour Online psychometric testing and detailed reports Assessment centre constructed with the support of Omega Resource Group Final interviews completed with international travel, accommodation and client meetings, senior stakeholders and global executives When a suitable shortlist of candidates was complete, we met the Omega Resouce Group team and agreed who to proceed with and also what else might bring some value to the process, agreeing to refine the original role specification. After further research and interviewing, a final shortlist was agreed upon. At this stage, detailed candidate packs were provided, including CV, written up detailed candidate interview profile and detailed candidate history, outlining career highlights and strengths plus personality traits to ensure a comprehensive fit for the role. THE OUTCOME: From the final two outstanding candidates, we successfully appointed our new CEO through Omega Resource Group. The full programme was delivered in line with the agreed project plan, and to budget, and throughout the process the daily/evening/weekend communication was at the highest level.
