Triple glazed sliding glass doors created light and well insulated luxury apartments in Chelsea, London. A new build luxury apartment was built by using precast stone and coal-fired pale bricks on the external façade. These materials ensured that the new building would match with surrounding buildings on the street and keep within the area’s aesthetic. The building benefits from make bespoke glazing solutions, including high security triple glazed sliding doors from minimal windows® and bespoke shaped windows. Maximising natural light within the living spaces was an essential part of this modern residential block design. This provides benefits for the occupants as well as helping to highlight the contemporary interior design of the luxury apartments. On the rear of the apartments, minimal windows® 4+ triple glazed sliding doors were specified to allow access to the balconies and terraces from both kitchen and living room spaces. Aluminium casement doors were also used in a couple of terrace entrances while minimal windows® 4+ architectural solution creates stunning large sliding windows. To provide the security of the homeowners, balustrades sit in front of the sliding glass systems, creating a modern Juliet balcony design. The bespoke glazing package for this project was designed and installed by IQ Glass, the sole UK supplier of minimal windows®, and all the aluminium framing profiles finished in a unique bronze colour polyester powder coating. The stunning rose gold toned colour of the frames works in harmony with the rest of the building façade, keeping in with the natural, light colour scheme. Flush thresholds on the floor to ceiling sliding glass doors from minimal windows® allows the luxury apartments so have a smooth transition out the external balcony areas. For any high-end apartment block such as this one, having high performance glazing is essential. Our triple glazed sliding doors can reach Uw values as low as 0.8W/m2K, helping to maintain comfortable living temperatures all year round.
