WYRE FOREST TURN TO CHIP AND PIN METRIC ELITES
A major upgrade of their car parks featuring the Metric Elite pay and display parking terminal is currently being carried out by Wyre Forest District Council. The busiest of the Council’s car parks in Kidderminster, Stourport and Bewdley are having new chip and pin Elites to speed up the parking experience for residents and visitors. The Council, which has been a Metric customer for more than 20 years, is replacing their older machines with new fully networked Elites, the centralisation will be hosted by Metric using the ASLAN Back Office system. “The Elites will offer the public the opportunity to pay for their parking by credit card for the first time in the Wyre Forest area,” said Sharon Clifford-Smith, the Council’s Parking Operations Officer. “We have selected the car parks with the most usage for the chip and pin Elites which will be more efficient and productive. The remainder of the pay and display machines will continue to be coin only Metric Autoslots and Accents which may be old compared with today’s technology but still operate efficiently.”
