The alarm controller monitors the wireless signals from the bed and chair concealed sensor pad transmitters. A patient in bed or sitting on chair will confirm the system arming process. If the patient rises from their bed and fails to return within the selected alarm delay period, an alarm signal is transmitted to the carer pager. If they rise from their bed and sit on their chair within the alarm delay, the alarm is cancelled, and vice versa from chair to bed. The monitoring process can be extended by adding a PIR sensor, also configurable for last active sensor reset. In a care home setting, up to 99 bed/chair alarm systems can be monitored by single, or multiple pagers. This provides the resident with more independence and reduces carer support time.
