UBS MRX72e installation

Martek Industries has completed the installation of a UBS MRX72e high-resolution inkjet printer at a food ingredients factory, with two additional systems set to follow.

The system will print logos, text and barcodes directly onto kraft outer-case cartons, replacing a hand-labelling operation. It was supplied with an integrated driven belt conveyor to provide smooth carriage past the printer and support sharp, accurate barcode printing.

According to Martek, consumable costs per carton have been reduced by 80% when comparing ink with labels and ribbons, alongside the efficiency benefit of removing the manual labelling process.
