Food Standards Agency Food Borne Disease Strategy 2010-2015
The Food Standards Agency 2010-2015 Strategy has been released and is within consultation stage. Comments are required by them by the close of 2nd September 2010. There are some key pathogen specific strategies proposed – for the reduction of Campylobacter in chicken and for the greater understanding of the risks of Listeriosis, caused by Listeria monocytgenes, with a view of reduction of cases in the over 6o years age bracket. Consideration is also given to E. coli 0157 following the report of the public enquiry into the Wales outbreak.
