Why Kiln-Dried Hardwood Logs Perform Better
14/11/2023
Kiln-dried hardwood logs are dried under controlled conditions so much of the moisture is removed before they are delivered. That matters because energy is not wasted boiling excess water out of the wood before useful heat can be produced.
Drier logs generally light more readily, burn hotter and produce less visible smoke than damp, unseasoned firewood.
Hardwood is valued for its steady heat and longer burn compared with many lighter woods.
