Why Gabion Stone Works for Retaining Walls
07/08/2025
Gabion retaining walls combine mass, drainage and flexibility in a form that can also become an attractive landscape feature. Instead of relying on a completely solid wall, stone is contained inside wire cages, creating a structure that can allow water to pass through the face.
This makes gabions useful where managing a change in level and controlling soil movement are important.
A retaining wall is a structural project, so height, ground conditions, loading, foundations and drainage all need proper consideration.
