How to Build the Ideal Home Sandpit

A home sandpit can provide years of simple outdoor play, but a good result starts with more than filling a timber frame with sand. Position, drainage, edging and the type of sand all affect how clean, safe and usable the finished area will be.

Choose a level part of the garden where adults can supervise easily.

Around the outside of the sandpit, a softer surface can make the area more comfortable and help it blend into the garden.
