Decorative stone is low maintenance, but it is not completely maintenance free. A few simple jobs carried out during the year will stop gravel, slate, pebbles and cobbles becoming buried under leaves, soil and weeds.

Rake loose gravel back into place after heavy rain or regular foot traffic.

Occasional washing can revive pale or dusty stone, although the method should suit the location and drainage.
