Choosing Safe Play Sand for Children

Sand intended for children's play should be chosen specifically for that purpose. General building sands are manufactured for construction performance, not for repeated contact with hands, toys and clothing in a play environment.

Play sand is selected and prepared to provide a cleaner, finer surface for digging, shaping and sandpit activities.

Position the area where it can be supervised easily, create secure edging and use a cover when the sandpit is not in use.
