Rare Metal Recovery from Catalytic Converter Recycling

PRL of Swindon contacted MSS as they needed the most powerful permanent magnetic seperation system available for the removal of ferrous contamination in their core material which is recovered from used catalytic converter units. After a meeting between PRL and MSS technical staff, the team quickly identified a suitable solution. MSS has supplied some high strength and robust magnetic tubes that enabled unwanted ferrous material to be trapped, whilst allowing the ceramic core material to fall through into the hoppers below. This has enabled an improved production process in terms of seperation and throughput as well as less down time and improved yields.
