Reference will also be made to other associated standards and their implications. Course Content: Topics covered will include: Hazards from optical sources Laser classification Laser protective eyewear Legal requirements Requirements for interlocks Guidelines for Laser Safety Officers Safety calculations Intended Audience The workshop will cover safe working practices for users of lasers and is aimed at scientists and engineers using lasers in the laboratory and in industry. It will also be of use to safety advisers, managers of laser users, and product designers. A certificate of attendance will be provided.
