UK Apprenticeship Week 2026

UK Apprenticeship Week is an annual event in the United Kingdom that has been taking place since 2007. In 2026, the event will take place from 9th to 15th February and continues to celebrate apprenticeships under the theme "Skills for Life".

The event is organized by Amazing Apprenticeships, a network of experts in apprenticeships and technical education dedicated to ensuring that more individuals and businesses can access the benefits of apprenticeship programs. The initiative also aims to support and inspire young people to pursue careers in skilled trades.

Over the years, we have met and spoken with many apprentices working in the electrical sector. We are now excited to share some insights into their career journeys.

Nick, known on Instagram as @nlbselectrical, always wanted to do something hands-on and learn a trade. His interest in the electrical field was sparked after an electrician carried out maintenance work in his flat. Nick went on to join an apprenticeship program and loved every moment of the training. He describes his experience as challenging and interesting, but ultimately very rewarding. Today, he cannot imagine himself doing anything other than electrical work.

Nick’s advice for anyone considering a career in the trades:

“Do it. Don’t look back. Even if you don’t like it, you’ve lost nothing. And find a decent mentor who teaches and challenges you. It’s just a bonus if they’re a laugh to work with.”
