Celebrating 15 Years with JACOB UK
This year, we are celebrating a significant milestone as Andrew Spurling marks 15 years with JACOB UK.
As a Customer Support Representative, Andrew is responsible for quotation and order processing, as well as providing technical advice and product information to customers. Over the years his role has developed alongside his growing knowledge of JACOB products and solutions, enabling him to become a trusted point of contact for customers seeking both support and technical guidance.
Andrew joined the business in 2011 and has witnessed considerable growth during his time with the company. From an expanding workforce to the introduction of innovative new products, he has seen JACOB UK and the wider JACOB Group continue to evolve while maintaining the strong relationships and collaborative culture that define the business.
One of the most significant changes Andrew has seen has been the advancement of technology, both within the workplace and across the JACOB product range. Office processes have transitioned from traditional methods such as fax communications to fully digital systems, while product innovations, including the introduction of E-drives within the valve range, demonstrate how technology has enhanced performance and efficiency for customers.
A memorable moment in Andrew's career was his first visit to the JACOB Group headquarters in Germany.
"The warm welcome I received from people who, until then, had only been voices on the phone, made me realise we are one company, not just individual offices," said Andrew.
Throughout his career with JACOB UK, Andrew has valued the support, friendship and teamwork that exist across the business. He credits the positive working environment and willingness of colleagues to support one another as key reasons for his long-standing commitment to the company.
Andrew also recognises the approachable nature of the leadership team, commenting:
"The leadership team at JACOB are always happy to muck in and help, from packing orders to making the tea, rather than simply sitting back and giving orders."
A collaborative approach is important to JACOB UK, creating an environment where employees are encouraged to grow and succeed.
When asked what advice he would give to new starters, Andrew emphasises the importance of taking time to learn, asking questions and listening to those around you. With a wealth of knowledge shared across the business, he believes there is always something new to learn.
Reflecting on his 15-year journey, Andrew describes his experience at JACOB UK as both enjoyable and rewarding. Looking ahead, he hopes the company continues to grow and innovate while retaining the friendly, supportive culture that has been central to its success.
"You never know what the next phone call will bring… a major order or a request for help," he concluded.
