IVECO DAILY VOTED BRITAINS ULTRA LIGHT TRUCK 2006
Ivecos Daily range of light commercial vehicles has added yet another string to its bow after being voted Britains Ultra Light Truck 2006 by Professional Van and Light Truck magazine.
This latest accolade, voted for by professional van operators across the UK, is Dailys third major award since being crowned Fleet Van of the Year by Motor Transport newspaper in September 2005, and Van of the Year by What Van?
magazine in November 2005.
The full Daily range extends to over 3,000 different models with gross vehicle weights from 3.2 to 6.5 tonnes and includes a comprehensive selection of vans, chassis cabs and chassis crew cabs.
Chris Thorneycroft-Smith, Ivecos Managing Director, says: “This recognition as Britains Ultra Light Truck is confirmation that our popular Daily range is considered a top choice for all sectors of industry – from self employed
tradesmen and retail operators through to small and large fleet operators.”
“One of the keys to Dailys growing success is the strength of our 26 main distributors and 39 satellites across the UK, which enables light commercial vehicle operators to benefit from a truck-focused operation, with the extended
opening hours and commitment to minimising downtime which that brings,” he adds.
John Fife, Editor of Professional Van & Light Truck, added: “The sheer versatility of the Iveco Daily really impressed the judging panel. Daily benefits from a super strong chassis on which can be built a huge variety of bodies,
ensuring Daily is suitable for almost any light commercial vehicle application.”
Daily vans can be specified with one of eight different load space volumes, from 7 to 17.2m³, with the largest model offering unrivalled load carrying capacity as the largest panel van available on the market.
Chassis cab and chassis crew cab models offer bodybuilders maximum versatility and can also be purchased through Ivecos DriveAway Options programme, which allows operators to buy a range of bodied vehicles off the shelf, including box vans, Luton vans, tautliner curtainsiders, refrigerated vans, tippers and minibuses.
Power comes from a line-up of five diesel engines, capable of producing between 96 to 166 hp, making Daily suitable for anything from delivering lightweight parcels to emanding blue light emergency services applications.
There is also an environmentally friendly CNG engine for fleets operating predominantly in city centres, which is eligible for a 100 per cent rebate from congestion charging.
The award was presented to Iveco during a ceremony at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2006, in the nearby Hilton Metropole Hotel on April 25. For further information on Professional Van & Light Truck, please visit: www.vanandlighttruck.co.uk
