Design Engineer - Nottingham, UK

Design Engineer Vacancy, Nottingham. We’re currently looking for a Design Engineer to design, test and modify process control systems. Based at our head office in Beeston, Nottingham, UK, you will regularly travel to and from customer’s sites (UK and overseas), and be required to stay away from home as necessary. Skills, Qualifications and Experience You’ll have a relevant Engineering-based Degree, HND or equivalent, with at least three years’ experience within an Engineering Design based environment. You will be proficient in designing, drawing and modifying Engineering drawings on various systems including SolidWorks and AutoCAD. With a ‘can do’, customer-focussed and results-orientated attitude, you will also have highly effective time management, communication and interpersonal skills and a working knowledge of managerial systems. Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Project, Visio etc, you will be able to show a good understanding of SolidWorks 3D CAD software. An understanding of financial information systems would also be useful. Above all, you’ll have the ability to provide consistent, efficient and effective service. Key Responsibilities HPS has a worldwide customer-base in the food, beverage, chemical, homecare, pet food and cosmetic industries. As Design Engineer, your key responsibilities will include: Designing, modifying and testing process control systems Interpreting and implementing user requirement specifications on time and within budget Assisting in the evaluation of project requirements and timescale planning Worldwide customer visits to ascertain customer requirements Utilising CAD packages such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks to complete Engineering and Manufacturing drawings Working to an ISO 9001 quality management system ensuring quality and traceability of work Understanding process valve systems Working as part of a team as well as on your own. Note this job requires periods of time spent travelling to and from site and staying away from home.
