Since 1994, the Henchman business has been a pioneer of safer hedge cutting platforms as well as garden ladders, releasing it’s first model at RHS Chelsea 20 years ago. The Platform Tripod Ladder being the most recent success story on this journey. After a luckily not too serious fall whilst hedge cutting from a ladder, led to the realisation that typical step ladders were never designed to be suitable for a garden or uneven terrain. Father and son team, Mike and Tom Kitching, initially produced the first Wheeled Henchman platform which was for Tom’s GCSE woodwork project. He scraped a C grade pass! With continued input from designers and engineers, the company now presents a comprehensive and diverse range of products which have been designed to be really useful, long lasting, with fantastic value. Henchman’s customers feature several Royal households, the NHS, RHS, National Trust and 100’s of councils, schools, colleges, nationwide landscape gardeners and moreover, tens’s of thousands of householders.
