We are moving

To be honest, this has been up in the air for a while now, a bit of a will he or won't he scenario that has been rumbling on in the background for over a year now between the owner of Great Annual Savings and the owner of the building we currently occupy through East Durham Business Services. The rumours became reality earlier this month when all tenants currently renting office space from East Durham Business Services were given three months notice terminating our contract with them. Whilst frustrating, this is always a risk when you enter into this type of easy in and easy out contract. Sandra, the tenant coordinator, has been very helpful in all of this uncertainty and tried to offer where available office space in their other business centre which is based in Peterlee which is around a 15-minute journey south from our existing office. I was one of the existing tenants that visited the Peterlee business centre and thought well it's not ideal, but as I have rented space from EDBS for the past 3 years, it would be the easy option to take. Office 18 was going to be our new office in Peterlee, and i took the staff down to look at the new office to which they seemed happy with and all responded positively to the centre itself, i got the feeling that they were quite looking forward to being based there. So with EDBS you rent a fully serviced office space with high speed internet, gas, electric and telephone included within the rent excluding actual calls we make which are set at a standard tariff. This is ideal for a small business that wants a straight forward and simple way to deal with day to day running of their business. This was ideal when Hamilton Steel Buildings Ltd was created in 2017 but i felt that we needed to move the business forward and began to search for different premises to trade from. I liked the idea of being in a centre with other business’s but didn’t want the restrictions of having to use their services and wanted to be able to grow the business. I first looked at the Evolve Business Centre when i first started the company but thought the business was too new to operate out of a place like this with established well known companies. I was still in the process of agreeing the terms with EDBS in Peterlee when i was passing the Evolve Business Centre following a site visit and decided to pop in just to satisfy myself that there was nothing better out there for the business. You know that feeling when you are looking for a new home and you open the door and immediately feel at home and excited ??? well that is the feeling i got hen i walked through the doors at Evolve. There were people going about their business on their mobile telephones and walking in and out of the offices. There was a fantastic vibrant buzz about the place. I meet the centre manager Chris and explained the situation to him and he said i have the ideal office space for you. We went to level two and he opened the door to the office he had described downstairs and i just said to him lets sit down and do a deal. The office is slightly smaller than what i have at the moment but i just feel that taking the decision to move here will only benefit the business as a whole. Did i mention than it was only 5 mins drive from my house ?? We are currently having our own dedicated internet line installed with WiFi and a new VOIP phone system. I guess the only draw back is i will not be able to port my telephone number into my new offices which is a pain but something that i will have to deal with for the over good of the business. With the current world situation with COVID-19 our move might be delayed but we are delighted to be moving to Evolve Business Centre, Cygnet Way, Rainton Bridge South Business Park, Houghton Le Spring, DH4 5QY.
