Exor Pro-Forma Press Release
NOVEMBER 2012 Below is a pro-forma press release for use as part of your promotional programme. It contains important information about the exor accreditation scheme and the benefits of membership, with space to include details about your business. Once you have customised the press release with relevant information about you, your company and the markets you serve including a quote from a senior member of management, the release can be distributed to the media. Target publications would include national trade magazines serving your industry plus local daily and weekly newspapers. If possible include a photograph, either of the person being quoted, or of some of your staff in action. Press releases should be sent to the editor, business editor or news editor of your selected publications. Names and contact details can normally be found in the magazines themselves. Emails are an effective way of getting your release to people in the media and most journalists would prefer to receive press releases and photography by email. However don’t send large attachments as they may bounce back. In all the above cases, it may be useful to make a follow up call to the individual targeted to ensure they have received the release and to ‘sell in’ the story. However, if you call when the publication is going to press it is likely that the journalist will not have much time to spare.
