PinguinLutosa needed to replace an old rotating arm stretch wrapper with new equipment that would integrate into its existing conveyor system. With one of the most advanced packaging facilities in Europe, PinguinLutosa wanted to be certain the new solution would integrate seamlessly with existing machines to deliver a vast range of flexible packing solutions. The Challenge As part of the upgrading and automation, PinguinLutosa needed a direct replacement for an old rotating arm stretch wrapper that would integrate into an existing conveyor system. The new solution had to: * match the physical dimensions of the old machine * be compatible with existing conveyor and safety systems * most critically, overcome the costly issue of loose film tails and potential rejection by automated warehousing systems. Timing was crucial. Removal of the old existing equipment and the installation and commissioning of the new system needed to be completed over a weekend to ensure minimum interruption to production. This was paramount when dealing with the processing and freezing of fresh vegetable produce.
