A green future

They say that failing to prepare is preparing to fail and in terms of a green future that’s the case whether you are a Government, business or householder.

For the UK to be net zero by 2050 a series of targets will need to be reached along the way and that includes the logistics of supplying and installing the millions of solar panels, heat pumps and other green energy devices that will be required in homes, public buildings and workplaces.

The Government has recognised the need to train over 50,000 apprentices to install and maintain new energy technologies and at Go Geothermal Ltd we are proud to do our bit by investing in new headquarters and warehouse premises.

As well as doubling our capacity and providing consumers with greater availability and choice on our products, the new premises also house a national heat pump training centre for installers.

Across the UK, this year has proved a record breaker in terms of households turning green. MCS, the body that accredits low carbon products, estimates over 120,000 solar panels have been installed nationwide and around 25,000 heat pumps.

But there is still some way to go if the Government target of 600,000 heat pump installations by 2028 is to be reached and that’s where our new premises can help deliver.

The premises, just off the A1 in County Durham, will support our existing commercial office in the Midlands in boosting capacity for the rest of England and Wales where householders can benefit from grants of between £5,000 and £6,000 towards the cost of a new heat pump to replace a fossil fuel boiler system.

The new premises will also help maximise distribution to Scotland where incentives are even greater, with householders able to claim up to £9,000 with an additional loan option of £7,500.

And in anticipation of the tens of thousands of new technicians that will be needed to equip the UK for the future, in addition to the training centre at the new head office and one in Worcester, we will also be opening other centres in the South-East later this year and North-West in 2024.

In partnership with a national technical training academy, we offer the nationally recognised Level 3 Award Installation and Maintenance of Heat Pumps qualification.
