Hullbridge Pump MCC Maintenance

NWL required maintenance and component replacement on Pump 3 at the Hullbridge site. The project focused on accessing the main cooling fan set and ensuring the motor control cabinet (MCC) was fully operational and fault-free.

Customer: NWL
Site: Hullbridge
Date: 30th January 2026

Scope of Work

Our engineer isolated Pump 3 MCC and disconnected the motor tails to gain access to the main cooling fan set. The existing fans were removed and replaced with new units. After reinstating the motor tails, all terminals were checked to ensure proper connections. The cabinet was inspected and found to be clean and free of dust. Once powered on, the MCC’s fan counters were reset, and the system was monitored. Full-speed testing was restricted by site limitations, so the pump was observed at 10 Hz for ten minutes, during which no active faults appeared. Auxiliary cooling fans on the cabinet doors remained operational throughout testing. Our engineer also assisted the site in identifying a faulty thermostat, supplied and fitted a replacement, and tested it on power-up.

Results & Outcome

By the end of the shift, the panel was left in automatic mode and ready to start. All systems were fully functional with no faults present. The site was left tidy, and the job was completed successfully.
