At the weekend two of our Directors, Gavin Roberts and Jason Tilley, completed the Broløbet Half Marathon running from Copenhagen to Malmo. Gavin and Jason first saw the construction of this crossing as degree students in 1993 and took the opportunity to run it for its 25th anniversary of opening. The run comprised 40,000 participants and included 4km of tunnel, without the fans on, in up to 30 degree heat followed by a 10km uphill stretch to the Swedish border and the top of the bridge. The final 4km downhill stretch was then very much welcome.
As a reasonable amount of time has passed since their first viewing in 1993, Gavin and Jason were joined by their eldest children, Meg and Ben who both completed their first Half Marathons.
