Newly acquired is the Lasercomp software to enable us to test for specific heat of larger samples - many grammes to kgms of composite or non-homogeneous samples. The normal method for this test uses the DSC which can only take a few mgs of sample so in such cases is not a true picture of the whole sample. Size from around 2mm to 25mm thick by 50 to 60mm diameter or octagonal. T range for this is from 0C to 200C.
