Why does Furnells recommend laser engraving for detailed and repeat marking?
Furnells explains that laser engraving combines speed, precision and consistent results. It can reproduce fine lettering, logos and complex artwork for individual pieces or batches of matching items. As a non-contact process, it does not require a cutting tool to drag across the surface, although suitability still depends on the material and settings.

Applications include presentation pieces, branded products, plaques, control panels and identification work. Laser engraving is not always the best option. Furnells selects the process according to the material, required depth, finish, quantity and intended use, with mechanical, rotary and other methods remaining appropriate for some projects.

Choosing an engraving process
The controlled, non-contact approach can be useful for finished items and delicate layouts, but it does not remove the need to assess the material. Customers can send Furnells the item details, dimensions, quantity and artwork so the workshop can advise on a practical process.
