Helmut Fischer Holding GmbH, based in Sindelfingen, Germany, acquires with effect from January 1st, 2014, the long-term partner for polycapillary optics, IfG - Institute for Scientific Instruments GmbH, Rudower Chaussee 29/31, 12489 Berlin. Business operations will continue as a group of consolidated companies, the locations of IfG GmbH will be preserved. By this step the existing, long-standing relationship will be aligned on a new base. In particular, the development and manufacture of high precision capillary optics for beam shaping of X-rays is a technological core competence of the IfG. These components are the basis for modern micro-beam X-ray fluorescence devices by FISCHER for measurements on small structures. With this acquisition, FISCHER ensures access to this promising technology and can expand its leading position for X-ray fluorescence instruments. Furthermore IfG produces components and instruments for X-ray technology. The IfG has a highly qualified team of physicists, engineers and mechanics, which successfully managed development projects for 20 years, mainly in the field of X-ray physics. This team is working closely together with research institutes and companies in the Berlin-Brandenburg area as well as on national and international scale.
