Fischer Coating Thickness Seminar

Conveniently situated at the Corus Hotel, Solihull, West Midlands (J4 off the M42), Fischer GB’s seminar will be geared once more to the particular make up of participants on the day. With Senior Application Managers Alun Lewis, Paul Cave and Barry Dolan as speakers and advisors, the day promises a mix of measurement theory, hands on practical exercises and problem solving. After a brief introduction from each participant, the day will typically comprise an overview of existing measuring method for coating thickness; magnetic induction, eddy current and others. The theory and applications of the X-ray fluorescence method (XRF) for coating thickness measurement and materials analysis will also be covered. Interspersed with the theoretical inputs, will be thorough hands-on sessions with Fischer’s portable instruments; with the measurement of samples brought into the seminar by participants and a discussion as to the results. Depending on the desires of the group of participants, Fischer’s advising team will ensure, by demonstration, that Fischer’s portable range or XRF instruments are being used to their fullest capability. Each participant should end the day confident that they can apply their new learning directly in the workplace and each will receive a proof of training certificate in the context of ISO900:2008, 6.2.2.
