Meet The Team: Melanie Pullan Meet Melanie Pullan, Ferwood UK’s Office Manager. Whilst you may not recognise her face, if you’ve sold or bought a panel processing machine through Ferwood UK since it opened its UK subsidiary in 2015, you’re sure to have spoken to her. A self-proclaimed organisation fanatic and lover of family holidays, Leeds United football club and her three “football mad” kids, Melanie have spent the last 25 years working in various administrative and sales support roles in the panel and wood industry. Her latest role as Office Manager for Ferwood UK, sees her undertake the complete post-sale orders process. This includes organising transport, coordinating engineer’s schedules and liaising with customers, suppliers and the team both here in the UK and at Ferwood’s headquarters in Italy, to guarantee a high level of support and service to our customers. It’s a role that is fundamental to the success of the company and it requires someone who possesses a high degree of organisation, time management and the ability to juggle multiple projects at one time. Melanie says: “I enjoy organising and planning – it’s something that comes naturally to me and it’s why, since completing my administrative apprenticeship at the age of 18, I’ve continued to progress in this line of work. I’ve met some fantastic people in this industry and I’ve forged some great relationships. In fact, I’ve worked with several members of Ferwood’s team in previous roles. These working relationships are so important and ultimately, shape how our business is run. As a team, we all know what makes each other tick, how we work and what our responsibilities are. We’re a tight-knit team and we always get the job done.” When asked what gives her job satisfaction, Melanie says: “Doing a good job. When a machine arrives at its destination and is fully up and running, I get a real sense of achievement knowing that I’ve done everything I’ve needed to do to make it happen. This drives me to always go the extra mile and do what I do to the best of my ability.” Whilst Melanie is more than happy to shy away from the limelight and focus on the job at hand, her hard work and dedication don’t go unnoticed by those around her. When asked to describe Melanie, customers and colleagues said she was hardworking, dedicated and a genuinely lovely person. That’s what makes her great at her job and a brilliant fit at Ferwood UK.
