Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board Calls For Water Research Partnerships
The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has launched a new £1.5m initiative to address challenges identified across the UK agriculture and horticulture industries relating to the management of rotations, soil structure and water. The AHDB has combined funds from the potatoes, cereals and oilseeds, dairy and horticulture sectors, something that has provided the required investment power to support and sustain excellence in soil and water management research. AHDB is seeking research groups to submit a 5-year work programme that incorporates soil quality indicators; optimal rotations; precision technology, and the management of water access, availability and monitoring. According to the AHDB, soil and water are the farmer’s key assets and the practical outcomes from the research will support farmers and growers to improve their management techniques with clear business and environmental benefits. Enduramaxx understands the importance of good water management in farming and growing environments and supplies a number of plastic water tanks. Enduramaxx rainwater tanks allow farmers to collect large volumes of free rainwater, storing the water in optimum conditions until demand is higher. Enduramaxx also manufactures potable water tanks which are WRAS approved, so water suitable for human consumption can be stored in volumes up to 30,000 litres. To find out more about storing water, as well as all other liquids and chemicals, speak to a member of the Enduramaxx team now!
