Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)

The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) was designed with the intention to allow member states of the European Union to to share the same laws pertaining to the design, manufacture, testing and conformity of pressure equipment and the assembly of pressure equipment. It covers the technical coverage for machinery, electrical equipment, medical devices, simple pressure vessels, gas appliances, etc.
Items such as vessels, pressurised storage containers, heat exchangers, steam generators, boilers, industrial piping, safety devices and pressure accessories are all directly affected by the Pressure Equipment Directive and that specified pressure and/or volume thresholds must be safe, cover the design, manufacture and testing, satisfy assessment procedures and carry the CE Marking and other information properly.
