Combating corrosion - alternative threaded connections
We are delighted to announce the launch of our new range of stainless steel composite unions to meet a market demand, as an alternative to traditional brass connections, for use within corrosive and abrasive environments. Our new 316L stainless steel composite unions allow installers to join various threaded connections between plastic pipe systems and stainless steel systems easily and effectively without fear of damaging pipework systems. Offering exceptional chemical resistance properties, the new connectors are particularly suited to marine applications, in which salt water can very quickly corrode brass materials causing costly repair and replacement work. Users of compressed air systems will also benefit from the longevity of the new product, as many compressor oils can attack brass components, leading to frequent replacements. Expanding our composite union portfolio, the new stainless steel products are available for our SuperFLO ABS, PVC-U and Airline Xtra pipework systems, with both male and female threaded connection options, in sizes from 16mm up to 63mm and ½” up to 2”. Our technical team can offer further support on specific product details and application suitability. Commenting on the product launch, our industrial brand manager, Rich Pedley, said: “We are always listening to the needs of our customers and identified a very real market for stainless steel connections from our plastic systems, particularly for marine applications. The new range complements our existing brass composite union portfolio and ensures we can now offer a complete solution for any environment and application.”
