Roller Pumps
Roller pumps are versatile positive displacement pumps known for their simplicity and efficiency. They operate using a rotating cylinder with rollers that, as they rotate, create a vacuum that draws fluid in, and then compresses the fluid against the pump casing discharging the fluid under pressure. Pump systems should always incorporate pressure regulating or safety relief valves to bypass excess fluid when the fluid outlet is restricted or closed.
The outlet flow is determined by the size and number of rollers and is directly proportional to the RPM of the pump. The discharge pressure is primarily determined by the restrictions applied to the flow, be it through nozzles or other downstream restrictions. Their ability to handle a wide range of fluid viscosities and chemical substances makes roller pumps a preferred choice in agriculture for pesticide and herbicide application, in chemical processing for transferring corrosive materials, and in manufacturing for pumping and material handling operations.
