Type tests are facilitated at Cranage for Substation Equipment and Transducer Based Monitoring Systems for Power Cables:- operating on AC/DC power supplies, including:- BS EN61000-4-2 (contact/air discharge up to ±15kV) BS EN61000-4-3 (up to 30V/m including 10V/m at 0.9/1.89GHz) BS EN61000-4-4 (up to ±4kV) BS EN61000-4-5 (up to ±4kV) BS EN61000-4-6 (up to 10V rms) BS EN61000-4-8 (up to 100A/m) BS EN61000-4-9 (up to 1000A/m) BS EN61000-4-10 (up to 100A/m) BS EN61000-4-11 (AC/DC interruptions + voltage variations) BS EN61000-4-12 (see below) BS EN61000-4-16 (15Hz to 150kHz up to 10V rms including 30/300V 50Hz test) BS EN55022 (emissions Class A & B limits on 10m open area test site) IEC 255-5 (500V/2000V dielectric test) Damped Oscillatory Wave tests have been developed at Cranage in co-operation with the National Grid Company plc. Pulsed and Damped Oscillatory Magnetic Field tests are also facilitated at Cranage to meet the requirements of BS EN61000-4-9 (up to 1000A/m) and BS EN61000-4-10 (up to 100A/m). BS EN61000-4-12: Damped Oscillatory Wave These tests are intended to simulate the effects of switching with restrike of the arc, e.g. disconnector operation and are applied on cables used for cross site connections of analogue signals, including HV and telecomms equipment. AC and DC supply inputs are also included. Calibrated equipment at Cranage comprises an Oscillatory Wave Generator and Four-line Coupling network rated up to 25A per phase with the following specifications:- Technical Data: Generator Sinusoidal amplitude 200 to 3000V (off load) - up to 2.5kV on four line network load Polarity positive / negative / alternating Burst frequency 100kHz / 1MHz +10% Burst repetition 2/s to 50/s (40/s for 100kHz burst frequency) 2/s to 500/s (400/s for 1MHz burst frequency) Test duration 1s to 29999s (2s minimum for BS EN61000-4-12) Generator impedance 200W Triggering single burst / asynchronous / synchronous Sync frequencies 40Hz / 50Hz / 60Hz / 400Hz / 16.6Hz Sync angle 0 to 360 degrees Technical Data: Coupling Network AC Voltage range 420V phase-phase 240V phase-neutral 240V phase-earth DC Voltage range 120V phase-phase / phase-neutral Line Current 25A Coupling Voltage 3300V (100kHz / 1MHz) Damping as per BS EN61000-4-12 Decoupling as per BS EN61000-4-12 Coupling configuration L1-L2 / L1-L3 / L2-L3 / L1-N / L2-N / L3-N (L1+L2+L3+N)-PE
