IP Testing

IP Testing evaluates how well devices or enclosures resist the intrusion of solids and liquids, providing a standardised rating that indicates their protective capabilities. The importance of IP Testing is for product reliability, safety assurance, and market compliance. The first digit (0-6) indicates protection against solid objects. For example, IP6X is fully dust-tight, while IP2X prevents finger access to hazardous components. The second digit (0-9) indicates protection against liquid ingress. For example, IPX7 protects a device against immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, while IPX9K covers high-pressure, high temperature water jets. Cranage can test up to IPX9X.
