Two Working Prototypes For Hayer

How good can a ‘looks like, works like’ prototype be? Well, Hayter really like to test this in many ways! They wanted a pair of prototype lawn mowers (one petrol and one electric) that would not only look like the real thing, run with a blade but also cut grass! This was achieved with multiple CNC machined components which, we felt when machined in the correct materials, would give the best chance of success. What could be any more true to the design and manufacturing of materials without tooling? The production colours were mixed using our paint mixing system and applied to the mouldings, to the gloss and textured finishes. Once assembled and cutting the lawn, who could tell this was a pair of prototypes?
